I found some of the visdev work I did on Wreck-It Ralph Stitchkingdom.com as part of the latest batch of released visdev. The first was a painting to sell the idea and look of Game Central station. The second was a moment moment painting (one of my favorite because I got to come up with the signs), and the third was an early visdev piece for Hero's Duty. I've been so lucky to work on such an awesome film with such awesome people. Images are copyright Disney.

AWESOME!
amazing skills!
Wow. Would you care to tell us how you made the first one, please?
Oh wow! Did you use any 3d base for the first two of them, or are you just that scary good?
Amazing work! the colour and lighting is fantastic. I am so inspired right now to create new environment designs and can not wait to see the movie!
Thanks for the comments!
Kan: The first image started out as a rough previs model. No texture, no lighting... basically a maya viewport screen cap. The general architecture was set and cameras were placed. I was asked to sell the idea of Grand Central in a Power strip and to give a blueprint for modeling and look and lighting. As far as technical stuff, I just kept things on separate layers. I still haven't figured out how to use textures well, so everything is hand painted. I think my favorite parts are the white outlet faces. I was pretty happy with how the material developed. I don't know if that answered your question, but if you have anything in particular, shoot me an email.
Szymon: Rough unlit grey maya screen cap for the first, nothing for the second.I had been doing a lot of paintings with subdued light, and since I did the previous painting and understood the proportions and perspective, redrawing it was not really an issue. I don't get to draw characters to often at work, so when I get the chance, I'm all over it. The original designs for these characters were by Bill Schwab and Cory Loftis (except for the Qbert characters.)
Thanks very much. I am still struggling to find the best method for interiors, can't do much with even the most basic 3D geometry.
Painting interiors feels to me like taking off the jacket on the front seat of a car:)
So you ARE that good...;) Impressive!
LOVE these, man. big fan.
amazing work! these are stunning.
you handled the lighting/rendering quite nicely!!! great job.
WOW! These are all great, but that second one should be the cover of the artbook :) You killed it.
I was honored to have watched Ryan work on Ralph, very inspiring. Can't wait to see future works.
I've spent my whole life wishing I could draw, but my brain is just more word oriented. Glad you don't mind me stopping by to look at your work once in a while.
Fantastic Ryan! Can't wait to see the rest
Nice looking work!
It's really cool to finally see what you've been working on! Can't wait to see the movie.
Those outlets look so awesome, especially inside the entrances, it looks like cut plastic with the lines going horizontal... Great little effective detail.
